A prized pupil, Waller was dubbed " the black [Victor] Horowitz". He frequently played Johann Sebastian Bach's organ music for friends.
His most notorious gig was a command performance for Al Capone.
Kidnapped by four men, Waller was the 'surprise guest' at crime kingpin Al Capone's birthday party and was forced at gunpoint to play.
