{ 12 - Step Program } ~ Arnold Franz Walter Schoenberg

Sketch of the great musical innovator Arnold Franz Walter Schoenberg on this, his birthday.

Schoenberg was part of the 'Second Viennese School' in Western music.  He tried to bridge the divide in late 19th century musical thought between Brahms and Wagner.

He eventually developed his twelve-tone serialism, or twelve-note composition which was referred to as 'atonalism' [a term Schoenberg did not like].  This innovation revolutionized Western music having lasting effects on music to follow, be it jazz, R&B, or rock.
