{Hockey Night In Canada} ~ via Montreal to Moscow
Terry Mosher aka 'Aislin' holding a copy of his 53rd book set to hit the shelves for this upcoming Fall titled "Montreal to Moscow: 1972 Summit Series Cartoons and Anecdotes". The book chronicles Terry's first hand accounts of this iconic hockey series between the U.S.S.R and Canada and he was one of the select few to embed with the team during the four games behind the 'Iron Curtain' (which is a story unto itself and one Terry discusses in the book). Terry's reporting of those tumultuous times are handsomely illustrated with his wonderful cartoons and sketches when the two nations held their collective breath with every shot on goal. This was 'our game' but the Russians were proving it was there's too. The Series transcended sports and had it all: Intrigue, espionage, paranoia and outrage with the Cold War ever-present. Hockey in Canada was never the same after this series. Nor was Terry. He would go on to a distinguished career as an artist who would be rewarded with The Order of Canada. On this, the 50th anniversary of this iconic series which helped to define us as a people, revisit those incredible days through the art and memory of Terry Mosher.
