{ Tongue ~ Tied } ~ The Two Solitudes

Ontario Premier Doug Ford stirred up quite a hornet's nest recently when he opted to cut Francophone services. 
Not the first politician {nor likely to be the last}as our ongoing debate continues over minority language rights within Canada.
A cartoon I did many moons but sadly still topical.   
Dip pen and ink; no pencil preparatory work; it's all jumping straight into the deep end of the inkwell and  'taking a line for a walk' {Paul Klee}. 
This appeared in the Ottawa Citizen and Portfoolio: the Year in Canadian Caricature.  It now resides within the permanent collection of the National Archives of Canada.
