{ Shattering } ~ Experience

Illustration that I did recently for a client based on a doctor who reminisces about their past career and relives some pretty disturbing moments.
It was a very frank, unsentimental account so I offered an illustration in kind showing an elderly lady with her eyes 'shattered' by the experiences.
Client liked it; author not so much.  In fact did not like it at all.  so the client opted for some bland stock photo to mollify them.
