{Discovery2011} ~ Where Next Happens

I was at the Discovery 2011 Conference presented by the Ontario Centres of Excellence as part of Algonquin College's Applied Research and Innovation team. This was a chance to participate with the leading technologies, ideas, and businesses at 'Canada's foremost innovation and commercialization event.' For Algonquin, it was also a chance to showcase some of the Applied Research and Innovation projects we were proud to help develop in assistance with our Industry partners. Applied Research and Innovation helps facilitate Industry's potential with our student's potential. An example would be the Pharmacology Pictogram project. I was proud to act as consultant and facilitator on this worthy endeavor which has the potential to change the way medicine is delivered within our health care system. Above is the poster I designed for the College as part of our trade booth. BIT Degree /Algonquin College students were hired through Algonquin Applied Research and Innovation under the direct supervision of The Department of Pharmacy at the Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario in conjunction with the International Pharmaceutical Federation, and Health Canada, in order to provide pictographs for the development of an online database service. The pictographs became part of a global survey in conjunction with the International Pharmaceutical Federation. Visual pictographs offered through a storyboard format and delivered through an online database will ensure better knowledge of proper drug-use and a more cost-effective delivery of health care in North America and the world.
